Defence and Aerospace
The defence industries have been experiencing a downward trend over the three years leading to 2015 mainly driven by more cautious government spending and efforts to recover from the economic crisis. However, as new security threats emerge triggered by political instability, terrorism outbreak, eruption of wars in sensitive and strategic countries specially in the middle east, governments spending priorities have shifted towards the defense industries.
Whilst the global average of military spending in 2015 as percentage of the country’s GDP was around 2%, we have noticed for some countries in the middle east, namely Saudi Arabia (US$ 87.2 Billion) and Oman (US$ 9.9 Billion) it was 13.8% and 16.2% respectively, which is a clear indication of the effect of the regional instability.
On the other hand, the commercial airlines manufacturers are experiencing an increase in demand driven by middle eastern giant carries such as Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways as they are expanding their operations, routs and airports.
At RISKTAL we have firsthand experience with the risks and challenges that face the defense industry and the compliance requirements related to, amongst others, controlled technology; we are also experienced with the airline carriers’ operations and processes. Hence we seek to partner with you and provide you our professional experience in both areas.
